Cambrian United travel to Park Hall on Saturday 3 October to face defending champions The New Saints in the Novira Cymru Premier. Kick-off is at 2:30pm, with the fixture marking the first league meeting between the two clubs.
Cambrian’s recent form
Liam Williams’ side approach the game following a 4–3 home victory over Llandudno, secured through an Alex Bonthron hat-trick and a goal from Liam Eason. Bonthron scored twice before half-time and completed his treble shortly after the restart, before the visitors fought back to make it a close finish.
That result made it three wins from four league matches for Cambrian. The run has included a difficult 9–1 defeat at Caernarfon, but last weekend’s victory provided an important response.

The opposition
TNS enter the weekend four points clear at the top following ten consecutive league victories. Their latest success was a 3–1 win away at Trefelin BGC, with Rhys Hughes, Rory Holden and Brad Young scoring.
Recent results also include a 5–0 home victory over Flint Town United and a 2–1 win against Llandudno. That consistency underlines the scale of the challenge awaiting Cambrian against the giants of Welsh football.
Craig Harrison
The Saints are led by Craig Harrison, the most successful manager in the club’s history. A former Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace defender, Harrison won six successive Welsh Premier League titles, four Welsh Cups and three League Cups during his first spell at Park Hall. He also oversaw the club’s record-breaking run of 27 consecutive competitive victories.
Following spells with Hartlepool United, Bangor City and Connah’s Quay Nomads, Harrison returned to TNS in August 2022. His long association with the club and extensive experience of domestic and European football make him a formidable opponent in the dugout.

Our previous meeting
The clubs last faced each other on 16 March 2025 in the Welsh Cup semi-final at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth, where TNS recorded a 5–0 victory. Cambrian were competing in the Cymru South at the time, and tomorrow’s fixture offers a new measure of our progress following promotion to the top flight.
For Cambrian, defensive organisation and careful use of possession will be key. Against opponents enjoying such a strong winning run, limiting mistakes and taking opportunities when they arrive could prove decisive.
