Cambrian United FC Launches New Post-16 Education Pathway in Partnership with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation

Cambrian United FC is delighted to announce an exciting new Post-16 Education Programme, being developed in partnership with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation.

The programme will create a new education pathway for young people across Rhondda Cynon Taf, combining education, football, sport and community engagement from our home at the Cambrian M&P 3G in Clydach Vale.

As part of this exciting development, we are now inviting expressions of interest for a full-time Post-16 Education & Community Tutor who will play a key role in establishing and delivering the programme.

Creating Opportunities Through Football and Education

The new programme will provide BTEC Sport provision across Levels 1–3, alongside community sport, learner engagement, pastoral support and progression activity.

Our ambition is to use the power of football and sport to provide young people with an engaging route through education, helping them develop confidence, communication, teamwork and employability skills while supporting them towards positive future destinations.

The programme will initially work closely with four partner schools across RCT:

• Treorchy Comprehensive School

• Ysgol Nantgwyn

• Ferndale Community School

• Porth Community School

The initial phase will focus on building relationships with schools, delivering taster activities, engaging potential learners and preparing the curriculum ahead of structured delivery from January 2027.

The programme is aiming to recruit an initial cohort of 12+ learners, with the longer-term ambition of creating a sustainable education pathway for young people across the region.

Post-16 Education & Community Tutor

We are looking for someone who shares our passion for education, sport, community and creating opportunities for young people.

The successful candidate will combine Post-16 education delivery with school engagement, learner recruitment, planning and assessment, pastoral support, programme administration and community sport activity across Rhondda Cynon Taff.

The role will include developing relationships with schools and partner organisations, delivering engaging sport-based taster sessions, supporting learner recruitment and delivering structured teaching and learning across the agreed Post-16 BTEC Sport curriculum.…

Community engagement will also be an important part of the position, using football, sport and physical activity to engage young people and connect them with education and progression opportunities.
