Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity | 2026/27
Cambrian United FC is proud to announce a new charity partnership with the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity for the 2026/27 season.
The partnership will see the club use its growing platform to help raise awareness of the charity and support the important work it carries out for young people across Wales.
As part of the partnership, Cambrian United will donate Dylan Edwards’ player sponsorship for the 2026/27 season to the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity, giving the charity a visible presence alongside Dylan throughout the campaign.
The partnership will go much further than player sponsorship, with the club dedicating its home fixture against Trefelin BGC on Friday 27 November to supporting and celebrating the charity.
On the night, Cambrian United will donate a hospitality table for representatives and guests of the charity, while a bucket collection will take place around the ground to help raise funds.
The Cambrian United first-team squad will also show their support by warming up in Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity T-shirts ahead of the fixture.
There could also be a very special guest at The M&P Group 3G, with the club hopeful that Sir Gareth Edwards himself may be able to join us for what promises to be a special evening.
Joshua Evans – Head of Operations, Cambrian United FC
“As a football club, we want to make sure our growth is having a positive impact beyond what happens on the pitch.
“The Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity is doing incredibly important work, and we are proud to be able to support that through this new partnership.
“Rather than this simply being a name on a player sponsorship, we wanted to build something meaningful. Donating Dylan’s sponsorship, providing hospitality for the charity and dedicating our Trefelin fixture to fundraising and raising awareness gives us an opportunity to really get behind their work.
“Cambrian United is a community football club representing Rhondda, Cynon and Taff, and we believe football can be a powerful platform for bringing people together and supporting great causes.
“We’re really looking forward to working with Eirlys and everyone connected with the charity throughout the season, and hopefully making 27 November a night that raises both awareness and valuable funds for their work.”
Eirlys Edwards – Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity
“As a charity based in Rhondda Cynon Taf we are extremely proud to be associated with Cambrian United FC. The charity gives financial support to young people aged 15-35 in Wales who are going through cancer treatment and are finding things hard financially. Money raised helps pay for wigs post chemotherapy, petrol to get to hospital appointments, bras post mastectomies, rising household bills and childcare for young parents who have been diagnosed with cancer”
“We cannot wait to see Dylan and the Cambrian team wearing our charity tops on 27 November and raising our profile in such an important community. Thank you to the team, Joshua Evans and the mighty supporters of Cambrian United FC. Diolch o galon i chi gyd”
More Than Football
The partnership forms part of Cambrian United’s wider ambition to ensure the club continues to make a positive contribution to its local community.
As the club grows on and off the pitch, we want to build relationships with charities, community organisations, schools, businesses and local groups that can use football as a platform to reach more people.
We look forward to welcoming the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity to The M&P Group 3G on Friday 27 November and sharing more information about the dedicated charity fixture closer to the game.
