Cambrian United FC are delighted to announce the launch of the Cambrian United Warriors Walking Football Team, following an exciting merger with Wannabe Warriors Walking Football.
This partnership is another important step in strengthening the club’s commitment to providing football opportunities for everyone within our community, as part of our One Cambrian vision.
Founded in May 2024, Wannabe Warriors was created from a genuine passion for football and a desire to create local opportunities for players of all backgrounds and abilities. The club was formed by Nick Rush, whose love for the game began in childhood.
After discovering Walking Football in 2018, Nick quickly developed a passion for the format and enjoyed every moment of being involved. However, he recognised there was a lack of local sessions available outside of working hours, leading him to create a club where people could continue enjoying football in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Walking Football has continued to grow rapidly across the UK and provides a fantastic way for people to stay active, social and connected through the game.
The newly formed Cambrian United Warriors Walking Football Team will now become part of the wider Cambrian United structure, with support from the club both on and off the pitch as the programme continues to grow.
Who Can Play?
Walking Football is open to:
- All age groups over 18 years old
- Players recovering from injuries who still want to enjoy football
- Anyone looking for a low-impact version of the game without the high-intensity demands of traditional football
- Beginners and experienced players alike
No previous experience is needed — just a love for football and a willingness to get involved.
