RHONDDA RADIO ANNOUNCED AS OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER OF CAMBRIAN UNITED FC

Cambrian United FC is delighted to announce a new partnership with Rhondda Radio, which will see the community radio station become an Official Media Partner of the club.

The new value-in-kind partnership will see Cambrian United and Rhondda Radio work closely together to enhance the matchday experience at the M&P 3G, while creating new opportunities to showcase the club, its people and the wider community across the Rhondda.

As part of the partnership, Rhondda Radio will have an increased presence at selected Cambrian United home fixtures, helping to bring additional energy and entertainment to matchdays.

Wayne Crichton and the Rhondda Radio team will work alongside the club on a range of matchday activities, including match announcements, interviews with players, staff and guests, and the recording of content and features for Rhondda Radio’s sports programming.

The partnership will also provide opportunities to tell the stories behind Cambrian United, from the men’s and women’s teams through to the Academy, community programmes, volunteers, supporters and partners who make up the club.

The collaboration will begin with Cambrian United’s Bank Holiday Monday fixture against Penybont at the M&P 3G.

BBC Radio Wales and Day Fever presenter Molly Palmer will provide the pre-match and half-time DJ sets, while Wayne Crichton from Rhondda Radio will take on Match MC duties and work with his team to incorporate Rhondda Radio content throughout the afternoon.

The teams will walk out to “Old Rhondda” by Tom Jenkins, bringing another strong local connection to what promises to be a special Bank Holiday occasion.

Joshua Evans, Head of Operations at Cambrian United FC, said:

“We’re really pleased to welcome Rhondda Radio as an Official Media Partner of Cambrian United.

“For us, this partnership makes complete sense. We want our matchdays to be about more than just the 90 minutes of football. We want to create an experience that represents our community and gives people another reason to come together at the M&P 3G.

“Rhondda Radio understands the area, its people and the importance of giving local sport and local stories a platform.

“Working with Wayne and the team will allow us to develop our matchday experience while also giving more exposure to the players, staff, volunteers, supporters and partners who are helping us build the club.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the partnership develop throughout the season.”

Wayne Crichton, Rhondda Radio, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with Cambrian United and to play our part in developing the matchday experience at the club. Rhondda Radio is all about celebrating our communities and giving local people, organisations and sport a voice. We’re excited about what we can create together and we’re looking forward to getting started.”

The partnership forms part of Cambrian United’s continued commitment to strengthening its links across Rhondda Cynon Taff and creating a matchday experience that reflects the people and communities the club represents.

Rhondda Radio. Cambrian United. Our community, our voice.
