Cambrian United return to Novira Cymru Premier action on Friday evening as Liam Williams’ side travel west to face Haverfordwest County at the Dynamite Bridge Meadow Stadium.
The Cam Army make the journey to Pembrokeshire following a historic night at the M&P Group 3G last Friday, when a 1-0 victory over Flint Town United secured the club’s first-ever win in the Welsh top flight.
It was another significant milestone in Cambrian’s journey and took the club’s tally to four points from the opening three league fixtures.
Building Momentum
After beginning the campaign away at Barry Town United, Cambrian earned their first Cymru Premier point with a 1-1 draw against Briton Ferry Llansawel before recording that memorable victory over Flint Town United under the Friday-night lights.
The squad will now look to carry that momentum into another difficult test on the road.
The Opposition: Haverfordwest County
Haverfordwest County are managed by the experienced Tony Pennock, who has been in charge of the Bluebirds since 2022.
A UEFA Pro Licence holder, Pennock has helped establish Haverfordwest as a competitive Cymru Premier side and previously guided the club into European football.
The Bluebirds reached the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League during the 2023/24 campaign after overcoming North Macedonian side KF Shkendija on penalties.
Haverfordwest introduced a new hybrid full-time model ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Pennock overseeing several new arrivals during the summer.
Haverfordwest Looking for a Response
The Bluebirds will be looking for a response on Friday following defeats against Airbus UK Broughton, The New Saints and Penybont during the opening weeks of the season.
Despite their difficult start, Cambrian will be under no illusions about the challenge awaiting them.
Haverfordwest are an established top-flight club with an experienced squad and will be determined to secure their first points of the campaign on home soil.
Cambrian travel west with confidence following last week’s victory, but Liam Williams’ squad will once again need to demonstrate the organisation, determination and togetherness that have been central to the club’s progress.
