Cambrian United are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Caleb Hughes.
The 22-year-old joins the Cam Army following spells with Cardiff City and Yeovil Town, bringing further quality and experience to Liam Williams’ squad.
Caleb progressed through the academy system at Cardiff City and signed his first professional contract with the Bluebirds on his 17th birthday in October 2020.
During his time in the Cardiff City Academy, Caleb was described as a hardworking and energetic central midfielder with an excellent range of passing and real quality from set pieces. His ability from dead-ball situations was highlighted by an impressive goal against Watford during his development with the Bluebirds.
After leaving Cardiff City at the end of the 2023/24 season, Caleb joined Yeovil Town and gained further experience within the professional game.
A versatile midfielder capable of playing in both central and defensive roles, Caleb will add energy, technical ability and competition to the Cambrian midfield.
The signing has even greater significance for the club, with Caleb being a local lad from Hirwaun. Bringing another talented player from Rhondda Cynon Taf into our first-team squad reflects our ambition to represent and inspire the communities across Rhondda, Cynon and Taff.
